About the Project
Market of non-governmental organizations is a unique one-day event, which has been growing in size and scope since its inception in 2000. NGOs active in education, volunteering, human rights, environmental and other issues are given an opportunity to present their activities to broad public, establish new partnerships, address potential sponsors and volunteers, and even gain valuable know-how needed for successful NGO-management.
NGO Market 2002
On 30 and 31 October 2002, the NGO Market was held at the Municipal House under the auspices of Czech President Vaclav Havel and Prague Mayor Pavel Bém. Throughout the days, a number of workshops were held, where participants discussed issues related to legislation, fundraising, legitimacy and accountability of NGOs. The aim of the fair was mainly to facilitate the presentation of individual organizations, the development of dialogue and to break down barriers in their mutual communication. The event also provided space to establish closer contact and cooperation.
