Fredo Arias-King is President of the Prague-based CASLA Institute, which seeks to promote the transition lessons of Central Europe among Latin-American democratic forces. Fredo was a direct participant in the Mexican breakthrough to democracy in 2000 as senior advisor to the historic PAN campaign that ended seven decades of one-party rule.  He is also President of T&R Chemicals, Inc., director of Ejido Verde, a mass-reforestation project in Mexico, and publisher of the Pine Chemicals Review. In 1992, he founded the academic quarterly Demokratizatsiya: The Journal of Post-Soviet Democratization. He holds an MA in Russian and East European studies and an MBA, both from Harvard University.
