The number of young people experiencing anxiety or facing the risk of suicide, increased by 12 % in times of pandemic. The project “Youth, Speak Up!” addressed an open letter to the particular ministries, where they call for the emphasis on mental health and awareness of children and adolescents in case of the second wave. None of the restrictive measures we have experienced were communicated directly to children, the system did not care about them, says Jana Soukupová, Founder and CEO of Youth, Speak Up!.
The project “Youth, Speak Up!” is based on a dialogue between young people seeking changes in society. Currently, they have 4 working groups focused on ecology, digitalization, young scientists and mental health of young people. Their ideas are then being pursued in the Chamber of Deputies.
