Women are suffering at all levels during the COVID-19 pandemic and the lockdown is deepening the inequalities within Zimbabwean society. Incidents of violence are escalating and even the state violence is targeting women. But while there are some sectors of the society which perceive our work negatively, some institutions are actually reforming, including those that are traditionally highly patriarchal. And that has been very motivating for us, despite the challenges we are facing, says Glanis Changachirere, Founder of Institute for Young Women Development in Zimbabwe.
