Vesna Pusić is a Member of the Croatian Parliament and a former Minister of Foreign and European Affairs. Ms. Pusić is a founding member and leader of the Croatia’s People’s Party – Liberal Democrats, which she has led for 11 years. In 2016, Ms. Pusić was the Republic of Croatia’s official candidate for the position of UN Secretary General, and was awarded the Chevalier dans l’Ordre national de la Légion d'honneur award by the President of the French Republic the same year. Ms. Pusić was one of seven women who initiated the first feminist organization in SFR Yugoslavia Žena i društvo (Woman and Society) and was widely criticized by the authorities at the time. Ms. Pusić is a Professor of Sociology and Political Theory at University of Zagreb and the author of five books and numerous scientific and professional articles.
