Věra Jourová

Věra Jourová became the Vice-President of the European Commission for Values and Transparency in 2019. Prior to taking that position, she was the European Commissioner for Justice, Consumers and Gender Equality. She has also served as the Czech Minister for Regional Development in 2014. Previously, she has worked as the EU funds consultant (2006-2013) and provided consultancy in the Western Balkans relating to EU accession (2006-2011). She obtained her master’s degree in Theory of culture and degree in Law from Charles University in Prague.
