Governor of Puerto Rico between 2001 and 2005, Puerto Rican politician and businesswoman, founder of the Foundation Sila M. Calderón, an organization with objectives dedicated to the reduction of poverty and inequality, and improvement of social situations for women. A student of Arts of Government, she has received the highest public honors of the Dominican Republic, Panama, Costa Rica and Spain, and President’s Lifetime Achievement Award. In addition, she is a possessor of various honorary degrees and awards like the Harvard Foundation Award, etc.
