Senior analyst and independent consultant at the Australian Strategic Policy Institute’s International Cyber Policy Centre (A.S.P.I). Ms. Hoffman’s work explores the domestic and global implications of the Chinese Communist Party’s “autonomic” approach to state security. Her work also offers new ways of thinking about how to understand and respond to China’s pursuit of artificial intelligence and big data-enabled capabilities to augment political and social control. She was previously a visiting fellow at the MERICS in Berlin and worked as a consultant for the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London and I.H.S Markit. Ms. Hoffman has graduated with a Ph.D. from the University of Nottingham, an M.Sc. from University of Oxford in the UK, and a B.A. from Florida State University.
