Maha Yahya

Maha Yahya is the director of the Carnegie Middle East Center, where her work focuses on political violence, identity politics, inequality, citizenship, and the refugee crisis. She has consulted with international organizations including the United Nations organizations and the World Bank. She serves on a number of advisory boards, for example the UNESCO international commission on the Futures of Education and is a global member of the Trilateral Commission. Ms. Yahya is the author of numerous publications, including most recently Unheard Voices: What Syrian refugees need to return home (2018). She has two PhDs in social sciences and humanities from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the Architectural Association (AA) in London.
