Jan Lipavský

Czech RepublicVice-Chairman of the Committee on Defense and Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Czech Chamber of Deputies and member of the parliamentary Commission on Hybrid Threats, Mr. Lipavský is also the Co-Chair of the Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China. His areas of interest include countering hostile propaganda and disinformation, digitalization and cyber security, screening of foreign investments or the EU Eastern Partnership initiative. Currently he is also working on the implementation of the Czech version of the Magnitsky Act. Prior to entering politics, he pursued a career in the private sector, holding managerial positions in the field of information technology in banking and marketing. Mr. Lipavský studied international relations at the Charles University in Prague and at the University of Kent in the UK.
