Dr. Ford Fu-Te Liao is President of the Taiwan Foundation for Democracy and research professor at the Institute of Law, Academia Sinica, Taiwan. He has previously served as Secretary General of the Taiwanese Society of International Law, Deputy Convener of the Presidential Office Human Rights Consultative Committee, and Vice President of the Taiwan Association for Human Rights. His research interests focus on international human rights law and constitutional law. His recent publications include National Human Rights Commissions, International Human Rights Law’s Domestic Impacts, The United Nations and Human Rights Protections, Right to Private Life, The Two United Nations Human Rights Covenants and The Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. He obtained his D.Phil. in Law from Oxford University, UK.
