Farida Nabourema is a writer and political activist who has been an advocate for democracy and human rights in Togo. Through more than 400 articles, she denounces corruption and dictatorship and promotes a form of progressive pan-Africanism. In 2014, she published La Pression de l'Oppression (The Pressure of Oppression). She also co-founded the Togolese Civil League to which she has been the Executive Director since 2017 and in 2011, she founded the “Faure Must Go” movement. In 2018, she was awarded the Young advocate of the Year and the female African Youth of the Year by Africa Youth Award. In the same year, she was also listed as one of the 4 Crusaders of Democracy in The World by Time magazine and in 2019, she was listed as one of the Most Influential African Women.
