Anthony Giddens

Anthony Giddens is an Emeritus Professor of Sociology at the London School of Economics, Life Fellow of King's College, Cambridge as well as being a member of the House of Lords, UK. He is the author of some thirty books, including The Politics of Climate Change (2009) and Turbulent and Mighty Continent: What Future for Europe? (2013). He was awarded the Prince of Asturias Prize in 2002 and in 2019, the Arne Naess Award for Environmental Studies in Norway. For the past several years he has been working intensively on the digital revolution and AI, which he regards as among the greatest transformative influences of our age. He was a member of the Select Committee on AI in the House of Lords that produced a detailed report on the topic.
