Andrey Zubov

A historian and political scientist, Mr. Zubov has been a professor at the Moscow State Institute of International Affairs, and has previously taught at the Institute of Oriental Studies. He is editor and co-author of a two-volume history of Russia in the 20th century. Known for his criticism of the Soviet regime and contemporary Russian politics, Mr. Zubov often faces controversies and has recently received much press attention for his dismissal from his professorship for his article condemning Putin’s actions in Crimea. He graduated from the Moscow State Institute in 1973.
