The death of Alexei Navalny: Vladimir Putin’s regime will not stop at anything in its criminal effort to suppress any signs of freedom in Russia

February 16, 2024

Alexei Navalny, leading opposition figure in Russia and one of the most prominent domestic critics of President Putin has died in prison. His death was announced by the Russia’s Federal Penitentiary Service and reported by Russian state media today, on February 16, 2024.

Forum 2000 condemns this atrocious action by the Putin regime and its officials, who bear full responsibility. The Kremlin has a long record of appalling killings of its opponents, including Boris Nemtsov, Alexander Litvinenko, Anna Politkovskaya, and many other brave people, including those who have been attacked in Ukraine in an effort to expand the territory of the ruthless Putin regime.

We stand with all Russian democrats and believe in Russia's democratic future. Our thoughts are with the Navalny family.
