Vartan Gregorian (1934–2021), distinguished historian, humanities scholar, and a wonderful friend, passed away last week on Thursday. Professor Gregorian was a long-time supporter of the Forum 2000 Foundation. He regularly participated in the Forum 2000 Conference and Interfaith Dialogues, was also part of the Shared Concern Initiative. Through his work as a President of Carnegie Corporation of New York, he advocated for education, democracy, and world peace. His lifetime inspiring work was recognized with numerous honours, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian award of the United States. Professor Gregorian´s devotion to fight for human rights and democracy will be remembered by those who had the honour to work with him.
