As part of the regional conference of Democratic Solidarity 2025, we conducted a series of interviews with members of our network in Latin America. These conversations aim to highlight the inspiring work they do while offering an insight into their lives, hopes, and dreams. In our next interview, we feature Maricarmen Sequera, Executive Director of TEDIC Paraguay. She shares how her early work with Indigenous communities awakened her passion for technology, collective rights, and the defense of digital freedoms. Rooted in a background of public service and raised with strong community values, she reflects on the impact of inequality, the fragility of democracy, and her journey founding TEDIC, a leading organization for internet rights. She speaks candidly about personal loss, systemic attacks, and the fear of losing hope, yet finds strength in resilience, solidarity, and her belief that Latin America must keep dancing, even in the face of adversity.
