Democratic Solidarity at the 2022 Conference
The 26th Forum 2000 Conference titled "Democracy’s Clear and Present Danger: How Do We Respond?" was held in Prague on August 31 – September 2, 2022. As in previous years, Democratic Solidarity participated in drafting the conference programme as well as in the conference itself. The Democratic Solidarity program included two closed discussions.
The panel discussion Latin America: Can We Prevent Democracies from Committing Suicide? was focused on examining the underlying pitfalls which have plagued democratic institutions and processes in Latin American countries. This topic was discussed by moderator Miriam Kornblith and speakers Marta Lucía Ramírez, Patricio Navia and Maria Virginia Marín.
The following Spanish speaking panel in cooperation with Casla Institute, titled Authoritarian Influence and Democratic Responses in Latin America. Is this Fair Play? and moderated by Tamara Sujú, included speakers Marta Lucía Ramírez, Jessica Ludwig and Luis Almagro. The speakers discussed that authoritarian regimes' influence over already fragile democracies has had a negative impact throughout Latin America and populism, extremism, violence, and intolerance have plagued the region.

Solidaridad Democrática en la Conferencia de 2022
La 26ª Conferencia de Forum 2000 titulada "Democracy’s Clear and Present Danger: How Do We Respond?" se celebró en Praga entre el 31 de agosto y el 2 de septiembre de 2022. Como en años anteriores, Solidaridad Democrática participó en la redacción del programa de la conferencia, así como en la propia conferencia. El programa de Solidaridad Democrática incluyó dos debates cerrados.
El panel de discusión “Latin America: Can We Prevent Democracies from Committing Suicide?” se centró en examinar las trampas subyacentes que han plagado las instituciones y los procesos democráticos en los países de América Latina. Este tema fue discutido por la moderadora Miriam Kornblith y los ponentes Marta Lucía Ramírez, Patricio Navia y Maria Virginia Marín.
El siguiente panel en español, organizado en cooperación con el Instituto Casla y titulado “Authoritarian Influence and Democratic Responses in Latin America. Is this Fair Play?”, fue moderado por Tamara Sujú. Contó con los ponentes Marta Lucía Ramírez, Jessica Ludwig y Luis Almagro. Los expositores concluyeron que la influencia de los regímenes autoritarios sobre democracias ya frágiles ha tenido un impacto negativo en toda América Latina y que el populismo, el extremismo, la violencia y la intolerancia han plagado la región.
