“The insights achieved by the Forum will, I am certain, be of great value to the work of the international community in tackling these issues.”

Conference Report

The report from the conference on “Forgotten Victims” gives an insightful overview of the harm that hate violence causes to our society, of which minority groups are most threatened by such violence and why. It highlights what distinguishes this type of abuse from “everyday violence” and how hate violence harms not only the victims but also the community in which they live and the peaceful coexistence of society as a whole. The report also provides record of the workshops held during the conference, which debated these problems in detail and gave recommendations as to what progress can be made with the help of the police, NGOs and also educational services.
