Balling Hall (Ballingův sál). Discussion organized in cooperation with the Embassy of the United States in Prague.
The discussion will introduce the general public to volunteering in the Czech Republic and abroad. The panelists will introduce interesting projects which connect volunteers, non-profit organizations and companies with those who need their help. Michal Brož from the Czech National Volunteer Center and Pamela Hawley, the founder of the successful worldwide project Universalgiving.org, will be guests of the discussion.

The projection of the film “Get Acquainted Safely!” connected with a discussion about this very topical issue is meant especially for young people but also for all those who are a part of “the network”. The aim is to draw attention to the dangers lurking on the internet and advise how to avoid them and effectively defend oneself.
Night Study Hall (Noční studovna).
We often sense a certain distrust between the “profit” and “non-profit” sector. Non-profit organizations have obvious goals but are they clear to others? Transparency is the cornerstone of trust. How to strengthen it and what non-profit organizations and companies can learn from each other will be the subject of this discussion.
Small Study Hall (Malá studovna). Lecture organized in cooperation with the Information Office of the European Parliament in the Czech Republic.
Even though strategic management has a fundamental role in finance and fundraising, many organizations still do not practice it. The lecture will introduce the main theoretical principles, their enforcement in the practice of non-profit organizations and examples of good practice.
Balling Hall (Ballingův sál).
A strategic approach to corporate social responsibility is fundamental. What are organizations looking for in partners from the non-profit sector? How do they involve their employees? How do they chose projects to support? How do they connect corporate social responsibility with profit? Representatives of several leading companies will discuss these questions and the criteria fundamental to their decision making.

The presentation will introduce various ways for non-profit organizations to use modern technologies for their work. The software donor program TechSoup enables entitled non-profit organizations to gain simple access to software donated by major IT companies. Current trends in online fundraising will be introduced using concrete examples, as well as the project Darujeme.cz which offers an online payment gateway created especially for non-profit organizations.

In this short lecture and ensuing discussion, Michal Broža will present the possibilities of cooperation between non-governmental non-profit organizations with the United Nations not only at the international level, but within the Czech Republic, as well.

Balling Hall (Ballingův sál). Discussion organized in cooperation with the Representation of the European Commission in the Czech Republic, FoRS – Czech Forum for Development Cooperation and Czech Radio Rádio Česko.
Encho Gospodinov will introduce the European Commission’s proposal for the future structure of the European Voluntary Humanitarian Aid Corps (EVHAC), the goal of which is to support and complete established EU voluntary programs. Take part in the ongoing consultations: Where do we expect to see an impact of the Corps? What types of activities should be done by EVHAC volunteers? How to assess and choose volunteers? Encho Gospodinov is a special adviser to Kristalina Georgieva, the European Commissioner for International Cooperation, Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Response.

The workshop will introduce the Human Resources and Employment Operational Program and the possibilities it offers, particularly the current and planned opportunities for non-profit organizations to ask for donations. These programs are aimed at the development and support of equal opportunities, international cooperation, integration of socially excluded groups in the employment market and strengthening active employment policies.

Colon cancer is the third most common cancer among men and fourth among women. In their brief presentation, Czech ILCO will introduce not only the organization itself, which brings together those who have stomas, but will also explain why Czech ILCO dedicates itself to the prevention of colon cancer.

The discussion panel will focus on the questions around cooperation between the corporate and non-profit world – how to start, how to establish cooperation, how to create a strategic marketing plan? What is the meaning of cooperation within the non-profit sector and on the outside with commercial subjects?

In what ways can people with the power to make decisions influence the lives of citizens and the overall shape of society? The participants will explore various ways of decision making and also the value of dialogue within the decision making process. The aim of the workshop is to clarify the role of decision makers in society, clarify decision making structures in the lives of citizens and the diversity of decision making opportunities.
