One of the coordinators of the civic initiative project Varela. During the so-called Black Spring of 2003 he was sentenced to twenty years imprisonment. Due to his serious health problems, he was released and forced to leave the country. Now he lives in exile in Spain. Castillo holds a license in Education with a specialization in Machinery Construction, as well as a Master’s degree in Pedagogy and a Post-graduate degree in Metals Technology.
