Czechoslovak Minister of Economy (1989–1992) and Czech Minister of Industry and Trade (1992–1997). Fellow at the University of Economics, Prague, where he lectures on Macro-Economy and Economic Policy. He also works as an International Advisor of Goldman Sachs, global financial services firm providing investment banking, securities and investment management services and Senior Adviser of ABB, leader in power and automatic technologies that enable utility and industry customers to improve performance while lowering environmental impact. He is member of the Executive Board of the Trilateral Commision, the International Board of Overseers and the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago.
