In the past, he was twice elected Chief Deputy of the Congress of the Republic of Venezuela (1989-1994 and 1994-1999), served as President of the Permanent Committee of the Youth and was a chief member of both the Committee of Finance and Legislative Committee. Currently, he is involved in coordinating the Leaders for Transformation program of the Andean Development Corporation (CAF).
