Slovakia

European Commissioner for Education, Training and Culture. He is a former member of the National Council of Slovakia, a former state secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia (1998–2002), as well as the former chief negotiator for Slovakia's accession to the EU. He is a member of various Slovak and international NGO´s. Mr. Figeľ is an author and co-editor of several publications concerning foreign affairs and membership of Slovakia in the EU.
