Petr Šmída

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Alfa-Bank since 2008. He graduated from the University of Economics in Prague, spent four years as Chairman and CEO of GE Capital Bank, Prague after which he was the Senior-Vice President at GE Consumer Finance (USA). He joint Alfa-Bank in 2003 and served as Chief Executive Officer (2004–2007). In his term as CEO, the Bank has grown its balance sheet threefold, has built a strong national retail banking franchise, and has further expanded its corporate and investment banking operations. He also served as First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Alfa-Bank (2007–2008).
