Summary
A Czech version of “Compass” was introduced, within the framework of the Forum 2000 Conference to a diverse and engaged audience. The book was presented by Antje Rothemund, Head of the Youth Centre of the Council of Europe in Budapest; Josef Boček, Head of the Czech National Agency YOUTH; Zdena Mašková, Expert Official at the Youth Department of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic; Jolana Dočkalová, Training and International Co-operation Coordinator of the Czech National Agency YOUTH and by Jana Tikalová, Executive director of Organisation Supporting the Integration of Minorities.
“Compass” is a publication of the Council of Europe that emphasizes human rights, democracy, and the rule of law. The aim of the book is to give a framework for human rights education. The publishing of this manual in the Czech Republic is only a part of the project presented by the above-mentioned personalities. The book, which has already been translated into 18 different languages, should improve education in 30 countries by 2008.
