Josef Jařab

Former Chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defense and Security, he is also a former member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg. Mr. Jařab was Rector and President of the Central European University in Budapest and Warsaw and of Palacký University in Olomouc. In 1990, he was named Professor of English and American Literature. He has represented Czech humanities in the European Science Foundation and is a member of the Observatory of the Bologna Magna Charta Universitatum.
