“The significance of this Conference is that it provides valuable opportunity to work together to further enhance the positive aspects of globalization, while rectifying the negative aspects.”

Educational Activities

The goal of the Forum 2000 Foundation educational activities is to strengthen democracy, develop a civil society and promote active citizenship in general. Educational activities foster the exchange of experiences, information and good practices, and encourage cooperation of both European NGOs and NGOs from countries in neighboring regions. International projects often specifically focus on Central and Eastern Europe countries, the Balkans, Central Asia and the Caucasus which share historical experiences, challenges, and difficulties with the Czech Republic.

Our activities support education and a mutual exchange of experiences in subjects deemed important for the development of a civil society, such as sustaining political and economic transformation, leading long-term projects, championing freedom of expression and free access to information, upholding civil participation, or handling conflicts. Project participants are primarily workers/volunteers of non-profit organizations and students devoted to carrying out projects in support of democracy and sharing their experiences with others.

The Forum 2000 Foundation focuses on two types of educational activities:

International training courses are intended for participants from various countries who come to the Czech Republic for several days to develop their knowledge,  learn new skills to be used in future activities in the form of non-formal education, and to appreciate their cultural differences.

One-day workshops and lectures, designed for Czech interest groups, focus on current issues relevant to the non-profit sector, students, youth, and volunteers of NGOs.
