Edward Lucas

Journalist and International Editor for The Economist. Mr. Lucas covered the Central and East European region for more than 20 years, with postings in Prague, Berlin, Vienna and Moscow, and still specializes in energy security and Russian foreign and security policy. Mr. Lucas is author of “Deception,” a book on east-west espionage published in 2012, and “The New Cold War” (2008). He was managing editor of The Baltic Independent, a weekly newspaper published in Tallinn (1992–1994). He holds a BSc. from the London School of Economics, and studied Polish at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow.
