On September 10, the Conference on Czech Eastern Policy 2025, organized by the Association for International Affairs (AMO), took place at Galerie Louvre in Prague. The event brought together policymakers, experts, and analysts to reflect on the future direction of Czech policy toward Eastern Europe.
Forum 2000’s position paper Resilient Neighbors was highlighted during a panel on EU enlargement, moderated by Petr Čermák, Research Fellow at AMO and one of the paper’s contributors. The discussion featured Milan Nič (German Council on Foreign Relations, DGAP), Marta Szpala (Centre for Eastern Studies, OSW), Berta López Domènech (European Policy Centre, EPC), and Laurynas Vaičiūnas (College of Eastern Europe, KEW).
Panelists explored the main challenges facing the enlargement process, both those unique to individual countries and those shared across the region, and assessed their implications for the European Union’s future.
The position paper "Resilient Neighbors" is part of the project "Addressing the common challenges to democracy in the Western Balkans and Eastern Partnership". This, IVF supported project works with civil society organizations from Western Balkans and Eastern Partnership, with support of V4 countries, to identify the challenges they have to become real actors of democratic resilience and change in their regions.
