The Nippon Foundation fully endorses the goals and agenda set for FORUM 2000 by President Havel, and is, indeed, honored to be able to extend its support to the FORUM's implementation. We know, as do you, that its success will blossom forth from the rich humanitarian spirit and the deep, sweeping vision so nobly demonstrated by President Havel in achieving the triumph of the Velvet Revolution.

There is much that is shared in common among the world's peoples and ample room exists to learn from each other about what is not. In the process of expanding our knowledge and understanding of one another, we can mutually enrich each other's cultures.
